In about 3.5 months it’s New Year’s eve.
Anyone feeling anxious already? ๐
Although most people consider the 1st of January to be the start of new beginnings, for me, September was always that month.
You get to charge your battery during a long summer vacation and then it’s time for fresh books and other school supplies again!
Perhaps you’d get new classmates.
You will definitely learn more advanced stuff.
And you promise yourself that this year you will do all your homework in time.
I never liked the summer.
And even the summer vacation wasn’t too exciting for me.
We usually went to a magical place called “the backyard”.
At least mum prepared her awesome fresh homemade lemonade and ice creams were unlimited ๐
September was always inspiring for me.
I looked forward for a new school year, wearing warmer clothes and drink tea without feeling a heatwave through body.
As I grew older that youthful excitement of course disappeared.
September now has not much meaning to me.
Global warming hasn’t made this month so much colder.
I don’t take vacations during the summer.
I do enjoy the fact that it’s darker sooner.
I like to curl up on the sofa and doodle away.
So here they are, the September Doodles!
Does September has any special meaning to you?
Does it differ from when you were a child to now?
Way to go and ruin my Monday some more with the whole 3.5 months until the end of the year… *insert your tea bag doodle*
No, I never liked September. My summers, as a kid, weren’t as exciting as other people’s, but enjoyed the sleeping in, and just reading books. September meant: back to waking up early EVERY DAY.
I still struggle, as a working adult to adjust the a calendar year with no “mandatory” summer vacations, no winter break, no spring break, no NOTHING!
Did I say my mood isn’t too good today?
Why does it even make us so sad that, that year is over?
I mainly sad because the Fall is over and that means a new Summer is coming. Ugh.
I used to read a lot of books but lately haven’t.
I bought a book yesterday at the airport. 300+ pages. I was done 5 hours later. I’m quite a fast reader and I loved the book! Good thriller.
Maybe I will find a more cheerful topic tomorrow to write about ๐
September just reminds me of the year I moved to the states and was a freshman in college, starting a brand new school year and a brand new life with new people, classmates, culture. It was very exciting and nerve-racking at the same time.
Now, it doesnโt make much difference, itโs just another month moving closer to the snowy months here in the midwest.
It is soo gloomy here today, putting me in a blah mood today!
I enjoy the falling and color change in the ๐ leaves! This matches my childhood opinion. The earlier darkness is welcome too! Nice doodles and post!
I kinda miss the excitement of September and a new school year coming ’round! Remember all that back to school shopping and the new clothes that I’ll wear all in the first week and then have nothing to wear for the rest of the year xD
I don’t particularly think of September as the new year but the beginning to the end ๐ฆ I’m a bit nervous about this year ending, but we shall see! Hope is all around!
September is now pretty special to me because it’s the month my youngest was born in. He’s a year old now. ๐
I know you didn’t mean it to be funny, but it totally made me smile that you think about the upcoming summer in December/ January (i.e. the dead of winter).
To me, it just reminds me of my mortality (i.e. I’m a year older, therefore I have that much less time to live.
My book reading is suffering as well. But I am trying to revive it. I have a few books that I need to read (but aren’t all that interesting) before I can go out and buy stuff that I actually want to read. What’s the title? Maybe I should add it to my list.
Cheerful, or not, I will still read it.
September is always crazy busy for me, so while I look forward to a new year, I donโt look forward to September work
Ha yeah, it is a big step going back to work!
The book is called “Bad Apple” by Zoje Stage.
It’s a bit wicked, but that’s how I like it ๐
I actually looking forward getting a few years older. I hate how everyone treats me like a baby.
Awww!
I actually never held a baby, but I am sure it’s soft and magical ๐
I love how colorful the Fall gets!
Thank you!
That is very exciting!
How long have you been in the US now?
I love gloomy days to be honest haha. Sunshine puts me in a blah mood ๐
I have been here for a little more than 12 yrs or so! It was very exciting when I moved. It also reminds me of how far I have come in terms of achieving my goals. Still have lots of those, but itโs okay to look back and be grateful for how far I have come, isnโt it?๐
It sounds like something just up my ally, so I will give it a go.
I don’t know about that. I’m used to people treating me like a baby. I don’t think it will change much if it has not happened yet.
Yup itโs tiring me right out so far.
The best is when they sleep on your chest.
I LOVE that Tea Bag one. Haha so cute and funny. I want it on a mug.
Awww thanks! He is a bit grumpy haha.
Actually you can buy him a on a cup if you want : https://teespring.com/grumpy-teabag?page=3&tsmac=store&tsmic=emotion-doodles-store#pid=527&cid=101949&sid=front
When I was in Elementary school I’d get so excited in September for school supply shopping! Now I don’t really care what month it is lol.
I love the doodles!!
Ah amazing! Iโm gonna ask my husband for one for Christmas xxx
