Taking blogging to the next level

My dad was proud when I followed his footsteps in the Electrical Engineering field.
But he also told me that was just something I could always depend on.
“Promise me to also explore your creative side”,ย he said.

For many years I have broken that promise.
Although my career started off pretty amazing and I was passionate about the job, the last few years have been true horror.
Even though my current job is really good, I realized that I most likely will never be a 9 to 5 type. Ohh oops, I meant 6 till 5!

The current life style I’m living is nowhere near healthy.
I know everyone says you can achieve so much more by being an early bird, but all I achieve extreme sleepiness and lack of concentration by waking up 5:30 each morning.
I don’t have time to have a nice breakfast in peace and calm which completely messed up my digestion system.
I’m tired of sarcastic, whistling and non communicating colleagues.
I’m tired of team building events.
I’m tired of non ergonomic chairs.

There’s gotta be more in life.
Because like this is will never become truly happy.

It took me ages, but when I finally started this blog, I felt that this was the first step to “something else”.
I took it very serious from the very first start.
I know many of you disagree, but I believe that a good audience is essential!
So yes, bring in the followers ๐Ÿ˜‰

Blogging has become part of my every day life and many of you inspired me to take blogging to the next level!
Thank you for that!

I’ve seen people promoting their art work.
I’ve seen people promoting their books.
I’ve seen people turning into influencers via social media.

And only just yesterday the amazing Gallantly, Galย introduced us to something I haven’t thought of before: Podcast.

I spend a lot of my time in the car and quite frankly I’m tired of the Backstreet Boys music ๐Ÿ˜‰
A podcast would be so refreshing!
Check out her link here!

Let’s use this post to promote your ideas, book or merchandise in the comments!

I’ll start with mine:

I draw the Emotion Doodles and recently started to design them on T-shirts, mugs, Totebags, cards and there are many more possibilities (phone cases, lunchboxes, caps).

Just let me know your style and I can make it custom made for you in your favorite, shape or color! ๐Ÿ™‚

For now:

  1. I think, we live in the time when it’s not possible to stick with one job/one profession (even one country to live in, in my case) for the whole life. There is just so much more, and there is a growing feeling of freedom and possibilities!
Explore yours and have fun while doing it ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I agree. It’s just terrible that people make you feel flakey for not sticking with one career for your whole life. You only get one life (at least it’s the only one we know of) I say do everything! lol

  3. I can see a huge change in contract. You’d hardly ever get a permanent contract in a company these days, so it seems like you are definitely right!

Thank you! Most certainly I will try! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Thanks!
I have been complaining for way too long without doing anything! That is not completely fair, but now I at least took the first step in trying! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Great post. I use blogging as a platform to try and bring awareness and help end the stigma of living with PTSD and to try out my poetry. I also use it to try and promote my books by putting links at the end of each post.

  6. Iโ€™m always scared overdoing it, posting the link each time.
But actually why not. People donโ€™t have to click on it. I will try tour approach!

    Thanks for tour comment!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww thank you so much! I love how you introduce my podcast here. I’m so happy that I introduced you to something new. Although I doubt I can ever replace Backstreet Boys (nor am I even sure I’d ever want to!), thank you for listening to my podcast. I’m excited for your future ventures and I love that your father gave you such wise advice! Your cards look adorable, by the way!

  8. Ha well, Nick Carter for life ๐Ÿ˜‰
I really do hope people will click on your link! I’m all for promoting awesomeness!

Unfortunately my dad never really did anything with his creativity. He claims that he isn’t even creative!
But I know for sure that’s not true, because he gives me loads of ideas to create my doodles! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Podcasts are not my thing.

As far as I am concerned, I would like to promote my services. I could write papers and website articles. I could read your book and review it for you. E.t.c.

Interesting that your father reminded you not forget about creativity. My family’s far from artistic, and writing seems like an utter waste of time to them. They are creative, but just in different, more tangible ($$$) ways.

  10. Im a wife/mother/ Preschool Teacher/house sitter/ baby sitter and all and all and all by day and 10 months ago i became a blogger. The strange thing is i still struggle to find my place in blogging. I read other blogs and my mind is blown by how powerful i find other peoples blogs and they write so wonderfully and long. My blogs are shorter ๐Ÿค• but id hope others find them helpful or a bit inspiring too… so thank you for inspiring me by your blogging ability. Keep up the good work

  11. Pop in to my blog diaryofamadtiredwoman.wordpress.com and feel free to give me some constructive criticism… dont be too harsh though…๐Ÿ˜ถ

  12. Rushed morning breakfasts are not my thing either. A good meal is meant to be enjoyed at a slow pace. Unfortunately the mornings where I have to book it are the ones where I eat properly or barely scarf down a piece of fruit if I manage it.

I’m happy that you are gaining confidence enough to promote your artwork. ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t think I have reached that point yet of making a dream a reality.

  13. I never listened to it either, but I think it’s fun if it’s from a fellow blogger I enjoy reading posts from.

As I said before, I think you should do if time allows you.

I’m happy my parents always promoted creativity. Mum is very good with sewing and knitting. Dad is more creative in his ideas.
Don’t listen to your family. It is not a waste of time whatsoever!

  14. Good for you. I love your Emotion doodles, I doodle too and mostly draw flowers hearts and butterflies ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ thanks for following my blog. Iโ€™m following you now too ๐Ÿฆ‹๐Ÿ’œ

  15. They too take care that we don’t get bored and rigid in one place, haha.
Some say it is sad that there are no permanent contracts, some take it as a chance. In the end, we all choose our perspective and the way to tell our story, no?))

  16. Yeah, do everything what your heart is calling you to. Whatever works, and whatever is possible for you. I would however disagree on people making us feel something. They cannot really force us to any feeling unless we allow that, so I guess, it is just a matter of what we ourselves are sure of and what not.

  17. Enjoying your doodles! I listened to the podcast and thought of “Deliahlah” (don’t know the spelling of her name) from South Florida’s Radio station – 97.3 the coast. Nice voice for radio chat! I also saw many drawings, poems, stories, sales people, and more since I started blogging. Liking what I see so far. Might show some of my drawings as soon I get one that I like enough. I did post some crochet and DIY stuff. I am not doing anything with it yet but thank you for the encouragement here in your post today!

  18. Your doodles are great and your post is written very well. I do think there is more in life, i’m on the way.
I began to take blogging more serious this year.
Photography and creating designg on products is my passion.
    Have a great day, Karin

  19. Iโ€™m in the same place. Iโ€™m glad Iโ€™ve taken steps within the last year to help bring myself closer to a happier me! mylatestfix.wordpress.com

  20. Happy to hear that! Keep doing that, because there are more opportunities that we can imagine!
I’ve followed your blog and will check out your post later! ๐Ÿ™‚
