Sunshine Blogger Award

It took me some time, but I finally got to writing the Sunshine Blogger Award.
I have been nominated by Goldie .
I have tried before, but I cannot seem to express enough how amazing this blogger is, insanely diverse and has a intelligent writing style.

Before I get to the question, Goldie also asked to write a piece of advice to bloggers.
So, here is my:

Blogging advice

Make sure people can follow you!

There is nothing more annoying than when want to follow someone’s blog because they are awesome, but then spend ages finding their “Follow” button.
Usually it’s because you might have changed your website name, so the link doesn’t work anymore.
You can easily change it at “Account Settings” when you click on your own picture.

I would suggest also to make bloggers aware if this is not linked.

Goldie’s Questions:

What are some of your best traits?

Honesty – only about my own feelings.
I prefer nobody asking me me for their opinion, because that indicates they only want an answer they actually want to hear.

Pro-active – I can’t sit around and wait. I like to get things done.

Practical – If people search for comfort by me, I’d most likely let them calm down.
But then it’s also time to find a practical solution for their problem.
This method is not appreciated by everyone.

Funny – I make myself laugh at least 😉

What are some of the worst traits?

I can’t control my emotions.
Anything from a long crying session to feeling extremely angry.
You won’t see me doing this in public, however.
When something happened, I head home a bit earlier and clean the house.
That is the only thing that calms me down.

Also I am pretty impatient. But I just hate wasting time on waiting.

Are you OK with your flaws, or do you actively try and improve them?

Definitely not OK with it.
But I do know this is because I am unhappy in my current situation.
I am in the process of giving it my all to change it.

I’ve been in a similar situation before.
Once I changed my location, 90% of the stress and anxiety was gone.
I am much better company when I’m happy.

Name 3 traits your friend absolutely needs to have (and why?).

Humor which I find funny.
I like being creative, so that would be definite plus.
Understanding (when I can’t enter their dirty apartment for example, because they would know the reason)

Is there anything your current best friend could do to make you stop being friends with them? What would it be?

If they can’t deal with my mental health issues.
I’m not sure if I was born like this, but my unusual childhood has gotten me to me to this stage.
Trust me, more than anyone else, I wish I wasn’t like this.

What is the most important thing about blogging (to you)?

Likes and followers 😉

img_4283
I am kidding.

I didn’t start blogging to make friends.
Certainly not to ask for pity of all my bad experiences.

Blogging is a way for me release whatever is on my mind and heavy on my heart.
Hardly anyone in real life has been interested in my stories.
On the internet, people can choose to read and comment to it, or ignore it.
There is always someone who is or has been going through the same.
Potentially they can find some inspiration from my post or I can find help when they share their view/story in the comments.

It’s self therapy as well entertaining or helping out others.

Do you enjoy a firework show?

It can be nice, but I feel bad for the animals.
Besides, I usually am asleep before fireworks start. And I hate being woken up by a loud explosion.
I think it’s dangerous too. I wouldn’t mind it if it was banned 😉

What are some donts of blogging (in your view)(i.e. What would turn you off of a blogger whom you were following?).

Self promotion on my blog.
Rude comments.
The “know it all”.
Anyone who “advises” me to not give a fuck about what anyone else thinks.

What do you like most about my blog? (So I can make sure to keep doing it. Not to stroke my ego.)

So this is again about Goldie’s blog:

You merge stories from the newspaper with your own experience and opinion.
And the fact that we agree on many things, does make it nicer for me to read your blogs.

But lately, I am mainly hooked to your “creative writing” stories (most recent: click here).
They give me the creeps, but in a good way.
On one hand I really want you to continue the story.
On the other hand I want it to remain a mystery.

It shows that you have a really excellent writing style.

What do you like least about my blog? (It will not hurt my feelings.)

I wished you blogged more. 4x a day would more than acceptable by me 😉

It’s probably your own choice, but I personally like knowing a bit more about the blogger (gender, age, a picture).
Whenever I want to refer to you, I really have to think about how to do that 😉

And there is one more thing which I’m wondering about.
You never “like” a blog, but you always “like” a comment.
A comment is usually takes a short time to write, while a blog can easily take an hour.
(Not mine, hence the many mistakes and forgetting of words 😉 )

My questions to you:

  1. Where do you live and what’s the best the thing about the area where you life?
  2. Name 1 thing most people wouldn’t expect from you.
  3. What is the first movie you have ever seen?
  4. On a first date, do you prefer to go to the cinema, or watch a movie at home?
  5. What gives you inspiration for your blogs?
  6. Do you rather take your own revenge or let karma do it for you?

Again, this is only if you’re up for it and have the time for it.

And I know that most people don’t approve of this, but if you would like to be nominated let me know in the comments. Too often, people have told me they feel guilty for not wanting to participate in an award.  I just want to prevent awkwardness really.

  1. I enjoyed sipping my morning tea while reading your answers. You turned average questions into a worthy post.

“It’s self therapy as well entertaining or helping out others.” That’s really neat. I haven’t thought of it that way, but it really IS.

That’s an interesting question regarding the “Like”. And I’m not sure I am able to give you a real answer. I will have to think about that. The first thing that comes to mind, though, is that comments don’t normally get a million likes (just 1 or 2), so my “Like” doesn’t get lost in the sea of “Likes”. And it’s also a way to say: “I got your comment, and I read it. Didn’t ignore it.” Great, now you made me think…

(Also thanks for all the good and the bad. I will analyze.)

    1. You’re a tea drinker?

I don’t think the questions are average at all! It was proper self analysis! I enjoyed it!

It’s not a problem about the “likes” on comments. I’m the other way around, I never like a comment.
      Maybe some think that’s rude?!
(Omg, did you just like my post? haha)

It was hard to say anything bad about your blog really. It’s fair to say that your blogs and comments are those I’m looking the most .

      1. How could you not know? I yell about my love for tea from the rooftops. Is that one of the things that’s going to make, or break our relationship?

I was wondering the other day if I have offended you, because you posted how blogging made you feel down recently, and I commented with “i’m in a funk”. And you didn’t “Like” my comment, or reply. Thought you were mad at me for being selfish.

Yes, I just liked your post. HA!

I’m really touched by your final words. I almost need a tissue. They really encourage me though in tougher (blogging wise) times. Thank you.

      2. Seems like a valid reason to never talk again 😉

        You have not.
I have deleted that post, because I was misunderstood by many, again.
Although all comments were very sweet, I wasn’t aiming to hear that I’m an awesome blogger.

Nobody has ever said anything bad about my blogging style, but some comments on a few of blogs made it clear that those people think I’m rich and spoiled and don’t know how hard life can be.
I only wanted to let everyone know that I’m far from those judgments.

If anything, life has become so difficult for me that I just wanted to give up (don’t call the suicide hotline).

Maybe it’s time to quit writing such dramatic posts. And simple put comments in the spam folder and unfollow the blogger.
And I did end up doing that.

        Happy to hear that 🙂

      3. I’m glad we’re on the same page. Now, stop talking to me 😀

OK, so I’m not TOTALLY crazy. Because in the evening, I tried looking that post up to go and comment something more substantial, but it was nowhere to be found.

I often have people ask me how did I know xy and z, and I say that I read it in one of their earlier posts. They are usually impressed I remembered. To me, all the bloggers I interact with regularly have a separate persona. Every post builds to that. Other bloggers seem to treat you on a “one post at a time” basis. At least that’s how I feel. And you did touch upon this in your post.

I can serve as your personal suicide hotline, but I accept no liability.

Tweak the blogging experience to YOUR liking. Whatever you do will never be enough for some, anyway.

      4. No, haha. You’re not.
That’s the beauty of internet, you can write something and then erase it if you don’t like it anymore.
(Hackers and FBI/CIA could still find it, but let’s neglect that).

But then there are minds like yours out there, remembering everything 😉
I actually appreciate that and it means that you are interested in the blogger.

Don’t worry, the only one responsible for me, is me 😉

  2. Your answers are so good, I don’t know if I can do the same for my answers, haha.

I agree about the fireworks. They’re pretty and exciting to watch, but as I was present for a fireworks show on the 4th, the brief thought crossed my mind of how unnatural the popping sound is for animals who don’t know it is not a threat. I’ve also heard fireworks are not good for the environment, which I feel bad about.

    1. Haha. I’m sure you will do even better.
      Let your imagination speak 😉

I feel like we can protect cats and dogs or any other animals in house. But for birds and rabbits, it must be terrifying.
I might even feel sorry for the seagulls who are keeping me awaking from 10 in the evening till 6 in the morning 😉

  3. Thank you for doing this! I get to learn a little more about, and you’re funny. I’m not a huge fan of fireworks. I always think I might want to go, and then I change my mind and hang out with my boyfriend, our fur babies, and whoever wants to relax on the couch with us. It’s stressful for me, and it causes a lot extra anxiety I don’t need. Thank you for the blogging advice. I will definitely keep it close so I don’t make some mistakes! I am sure I will!

    1. Thank you! These awards are exactly for that purpose 🙂

I also rather cozy up on the couch rather than merge into a large amount of people!
During new years day, if I haven’t fallen asleep, I might watch from the window 😉

  4. I love the advice you shared! I hate when I’m not able to find the follow button! That’s definitely one of my WP annoyances.

Thank you so much for nominating me. I accidentally let these awards pile up again but, I’ll def get a response post up in due time. ♡♡♡

      1. Yeah, it’s actually weird that you have to remember to add the “follow” widget on your page and then the automatic follow button the bottom just never appears for some people because they have gone self-hosted on a whole other site & it is actually their fault because WP really has nothing to do with their page anymore.

  6. I like that you’re pro-active and practical! Wish I had more of those traits. I also definitely admire humor 🙂 Number one thing I find attractive in guys is when they can make me laugh
Again thank you so much for the nomination 😀 oh and for making it easier for people to follow my blog haha

    1. I just hate wasting time. I’m not even sure why. I have another 50 years to go at least. That should be enough to do all the things.
      Funny how my brain workds.

You’re welcome. I really hope it helps!

      1. I hate wasting time, too, but I’m afraid I do it all the time. I’m scared of how to use my time, I think, so then I end up wasting it! It’s really silly. I think part of the reason is I was told growing up that this was a waste of time and that was a waste of time, etc., etc., so now time is some precious currency and I must never waste it! This ends up being rather debilitating. I’ve been thinking of writing about it on my blog.
