I’m not going to lie, I have been wanting to write this post ever since I started.
Blogging has been fun, although I did encounter some frustration here and there.
Unlike some of you, I actually do care about likes and followers.
For a large amount of my life nobody has been interested in talking or listening to me and now, suddenly 1000 people are!
That’s not completely true btw. On an average I get 50 likes per post, that’s 5% of the followers. Some hit “like” without reading, I’m sure. And I’d say I only interact with around 10 people regularly.
Anyhow, my initial goal for blogging was to get rich and famous so I don’t have to depend on office jobs which never seem to make me really happy.
And to do that, you have to become an influencer a la Kim K.
Of course in your own style 😉
Let me present you some of the things I did to get to the “oh so magic 1K followers”.
Sometimes I open a post and I see huge amount of text and no paragraphs, breaks or pictures.
Just one big bulk of text.
In all honesty, I sometimes just hit “like” and leave without reading. I just don’t have the energy for it.
Long, bulky posts can be a discouraging to read.
According to my statics, my average words on posts is 306.
Personally I don’t want to waste too much of people’s time, so I try to keep them short, but thought provoking.
Ask a question
This has proven to be the most successful.
I usually talk about my experiences about a certain topic and then ask my the readers on their insights on that topic.
Sometimes the question is already in the tittle, which will trigger people easier.
Follow for follow
I usually go on the search page and enter topics I am interested in.
Anything from “mental health” to “embarrassing tinder stories” .
The only annoying thing is that the first appearance are those that already have many followers, so they are probably not going to follow little you back.
Sometimes I just hit “follow” on the suggested box. 10 or 20 people in one day, with the hope they will return the favor. I might not be interested in half of the posts, but sometimes I just want to ramp up my followers.
I told you I was going to be honest.
Don’t post too often
Worse than posting too little is if you post 10 times a day.
I makes me feel obligated to read, comment and like each of your post.
I do enjoy people who write about their daily life and write about each day! It’s a nice break from all the heavy stuff 🙂
Write a post like this
People, especially new bloggers, are always searching for tips & tricks on how to gain audience on their posts.
This is the actual reason why I am writing this post 😉
So even if you’re new, try a post like this. It could result in a huge boost!
The last thing I want to say now is a huge thank you for all the support.
Blogging hasn’t made me rich or famous but it has been a huge part of self – therapy.
Also, Jasper mentioned a couple of times that he is actually getting to know through my blogs.
This is worth more than a Kim K. status 😉
Keep on blogging and I will too!
